The City of Lancaster is historic and picturesque, home to a well-preserved 12th century castle, and neighbouring the beautiful landscape of the Forest of Bowland. The University Campus is situated approximately 3 miles from the city centre, and is a spacious and pleasant setting for a conference.
Lancaster University: Exhibition Area and Conference Rooms
The Conference delegate registration is located in the LICA Building and opens on Monday at 11:00. At the registration desk you will be able to collect your conference materials and delegate badges.
The Registration Desk will be open at the following times:
Monday 10 April 11:00 – 18:00
Tuesday 11 April 08:00 – 18:00
Wednesday 12 April 08:00 – 18:00
Thursday 13 April 08:00 – 12:00
Accommodation will be located in either the John Creed block or the Cartmel block, on the Lancaster University Campus. Delegates will have 24-hour access to the accommodation blocks, once they have checked in.
Breakfast: For delegates staying in the John Creed accommodation block, breakfast will be served in Refuel, between 07:30 and 08:30 on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday mornings. For delegates staying in the Cartmel accommodation block, breakfast will be served in Barkers, between 07:30 and 08:30. Breakfast is included for the following morning if you have booked accommodation for a night.
Refreshment Breaks: There will be Tea, Coffee and biscuits served in the morning and afternoons of each day of the conference, and this will be in the LICA Building.
Lunch: A buffet lunch will be available to delegates on Tuesday and Wednesday. Alternatively, there are limited options from a small number of catering outlets which will be open on the campus during the conference. A packed lunch will be available for delegates to take away after the final sessions on Thursday afternoon.
Other Useful Information
Smoking: There is to be no smoking in any University buildings, including bedrooms.
Wi-fi: There is Eduroam available on campus, as well as Visitor Wi-fi free of charge. Select the LU-Visitor network on your device, then follow the registration screens. Your Visitor Wi-Fi access will last for 24 hours. To access for longer, you’ll need to register again. Please note that Lancaster University Visitor Wi-Fi is an open (unsecure) wireless network.
Emergencies and Fire Safety: Anyone needing the emergency services should dial 999 on the internal phone rather than a mobile. The call will be channelled through security (extension 94541) who can meet the service vehicle and quickly direct them to the location. If the fire alarm sounds at any time during your stay with us then you must evacuate the building as quickly and safely as possible by the nearest emergency exit. The duty porter for that area will arrive with the Fire Brigade as quickly as possible and will give you further instructions.
